20km swim from Waiheke to Auckland City

Charity Swim - Hopefully better conditions than today!!!! >Two of our (North Harbour Tri Club) members are currently in the final preparations for a gruelling, 20km swim from Waiheke to Auckland City on the 31st of March. Axel Wohlfarth and Olaf Adam, both former water polo players, will join 10 other ocean swimmers to raise funds for the Westpac Helicopter. Although Axel is an accomplished long distance competitor, neither of the two have swam more than 12km at one time.  They've put in the yards at with our squad at Osborne Pool in recent months, lapping up Carl's programmes. No matter how well prepared they are, spending 5 hours in the open water will push them to their limits. So to make it worthwhile they hope to get as much raise as much donations for the "Chopper" as possible to add to the $8,000 raised by the team to date.
