We've all become very slack around here, no doubt all too busy for our own good. But where have all the bloggers gone, there was a great turnout for the Rangi swim, Jenny, Cathy, Jenny H, Ben, Jo, Rico, Cynthia, Debs, Elizabeth, Geoff, Sue, Liz yet no stories to tell? Let me tell you I think I swam about 20 km with all the weaving out in the middle of the Harbour not knowing what direction was the right direction. I couldn't even find support crew to help with my navigation! Gotta be honest I thought I'd only been in the water for approx 1 1/2 hours, when my time came up at 1hr 53mins, firstly I was shocked, then I thought even after that period of time I still felt really good - fitness wise. Gad only knows where I swam to during that time, many friends were made on the many stoppages made to try and get my bearings, though with caps and goggles I'll never recognise them out of the water, lol. With no 'real swims happening this weekend maybe we'll all get together at Takapuna say at 8 o'clock at the toilet block.
NB and it farewell to Peter (who?) who leaves on Thursday for another year of tripping to parts afar, safe travels Peter, hopefully we'll see more of your next summer.
I was there, enjoying the Rangitoto->Devonport->Browns Island->Kohi->St Heliers swim.
ReplyDeleteI navigated most of the first half entirely by sound, and the second half wondering if I had actually gotten any closer to my destination.
Brent Foster was there, and handed out details of two additional swims, which I have promptly lost.
Does anyone have details ?
