Bean Rock Event

It was a great morning on the Waitemata Harbour for the Bean Rock "Event".

If you are wondering how an "event" differs from a "race" or a "swim", you have ask the master of definitions, Matt.

As I understand it, a "race" is when you go flat out, time is important and placing even more so. In a "race" it is everyone for themselves and the devil (or Orca) take the hindmost.

A "swim" is more relaxed than a swim..... time is interesting as is place, but not something to crow or cry about.

Now an "event" is even more leisurely... you can stop, chat, admire the scenery. You can take a passing interest in time and place, but nothing more.

So Matt declared this morning an "event" and what a lovely morning it was too as you can see.

The Mecca Cafe in the old Melanesian Mission Building is crap..... it was the only minus of the mornng.

Well I think I need some basic lessons in posting stuff to the blog as all those photos look a mess and should have been in a slide show... But never mind, it was a great morning on the Waitemata Harbour....

  1. Great photos Shark. In your words it was Event-full. The highlight for me was a impromptu rendition of "I'm a little fire engine, and Flick is my name..." The pointing was pretty cool too.
