Pool with a view

Hi all,

A big thanks to the girls who came down and met me at the Half Marathon finish. It was rather like trying to out-do Rose the dog, except this time I was determined not to be beaten to the finish line by a racer dressed up as a banana! Apologies if I missed any other spectators (Peter?) along the way,

Well I've been online and checked out the Beach Series results - thank goodness I wasn't there as I would have dragged down the average! I'm particularly impressed at the 1-2-3 in the womens 50-59 and Anna hogging the top spot above Tania Harman, and Fran Stafford, who edged her off the podium last year. I can see that Peter is easing in gradually and chasing Geoff Carter, and that Meegan and Kate were obviously having their individual dual. I've resisted the urge to check if Martin was swimming and who he swam past!

In the meantime, I have managed to get a few swims in over here on the West Island. In Sydney, I went to my two favourite pools - both 50m, outdoors... First up - the Andrew Boy Charlton, which is in the Botanic gardens, overlooks part of the Harbour and has lots of good looking gay men hanging out. Then for an evening swim at North Sydney, Milson's point, under the Harbour Bridge. I am now in a suburb of Brisbane, so my friend took me to her local 50m outdoor pool where I had a lane to myself. Just one of many she has a choice of going to...

Have a good week everyone, and hopefully see you back at Taka, if I am over the 3 hour time difference, next Saturday morning.

Cheers, Jo
