Busy Morning at Takapuna Beach

A busy but beautiful day on Takapuna Beach this morning.

The tri club are back in the water so car parking right by the toilet block has been taken by the time we get there.

King of Rangitoto paddle, organised by Surf Life Saving, with a start of 9am, made for interesting activity on the beach and in the water. There were surf boats, surf canoes, surf skis and the stand up paddle boards warming up while we headed out. Then the race started as most of us we were heading back in. This made buoy 1 "Grand Central Station" and most swimmers chose to come in to the beach from buoy 2 to avoid the congestion.

Due to our cars being parked all around, the start this morning was a bit higgeldy piggledy and it was agreed that we leave as one group from Cynthia's car at 8am. Late comers you are on your own.

The only new Cable Buoy conquest as far as I know was Judy Reid. How do these people do it? First time (for a very long time) in the sea last week and joined us to buoy 5 then this week to cable buoy.

There is much anticipation for the Beach Series starting on Tuesday.

  1. Yes what was it Helen kept saying "THOSE BASTARDS HAVE LEFT WITHOUT USSS". Poor Cathy got it at every bouy and no rest in Helen's pursuit of "THOSE BASTARDS". We are a strange lot, AND thats why we like each other, ay?
